We hope to see you all at the hui this Sunday--we hope to have a demonstration of lauhala weaving from Uncle Moki and we also hope to have some more great kanikapila time, too! Don't forget your ukulele, guitar, drum, spoons...you get the idea!?!

We are not going to have a formal hui the next month, though; for the month of May, we have been invited to Uncle Manny and Auntie Rose's hale for a DVD about Kalaupapa. We hope to have this potluck on Sunday, May 18th at 2pm. Please call and RSVP with Rose at 503-650-3321 and let them know if you will be able to join us!!

Please save the June hui date again for Riverwalk...this is a great way to have a good time with your fellow Nā Hawaiʻi ohana and make some money for the club at the same time. We plan to have a pot luck at the park after the walk, and what we encountered last year was that we were pau walking and it wasn't really lunch time, so you might want to think of foods that are more desserts, snacks or breakfast items that won't need much heating up when time to kaukau! We hope to get entry information soon; in the meantime, please think of who might be willing to sponser you and who you may want to ask to come walk with us! Everyone is invited--and every entry fee paid goes directly to Nā Hawaiʻi!

Would you like to have another Nā Hawaiʻi do-it-yourself yard sale again this year??? Last year's yard sale was a lot of fun and we have lots to look at! Everyone who would like to participate should bring your own tent, tables, change...it's designed to be like the swap meet...everyone at one place, but everyone brings their own sellers, goods and supplies...and you keep the money you make!

It's just an opportunity to get together and have some fun AND hopefully make a little money at the same time! If you feel so inclined, at the end of the day...you can donate a small portion of your profit to the club.. we wouldn't turn any kala away!

If you have goods you would like to donate to the club, but you don't want to participate as a seller, OR you would like to help sell and don't have things to donate...we might have a match !!! Please let me know if you would like to take part in the 2008 Nā Hawaiʻi Rockin' Rummage Sale...aaahhh...the crowd goes wild...

Hey! Anyone know where we can go camping this year?? Come on...somebody must know something! We want to camp, but we need an accessible area for all...and we'd like to have a common area where we can share meals and stories around the campfire, then retire to rooms (or yurts) with bathrooms and showers...humm...anyone know of something like that?

Calling all storytellers!!! Do you have a great story to share? Madam Pele ever sit in your back seat? Have a tale of the Night Marchers? We would like to bring these stories to our October hui - may they be spooky or sweet...please be thinking of something to share, and let us know!!!

See you all Sunday!

Joe and Terry Crnich
