The Board of Nā Hawai‘i wishes a Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentines Day to all our members and their ‘ohana!

I would like to personally apologize to all that didn’t receive the newsletter and missed the note on our door to the Sunset Fire Hall (we think some took it down) announcing the cancellation of our January meeting. If you are not receiving a newsletter and are a paid in full member, please contact us so we can get this fixed.

In March we would like volunteers to help serve food at Deva’s luau and we will be celebrating Girl’s Day, a Hawaiian holiday, at our Hui.

We are having a Hui this Sunday, February 11 at 2:00 at the Fire Hall. Greg Kurahashi will be demonstrating how to make kalua pig, easy style in the oven, and we will have a short presentation about the history of kalua pig by “Kalana” Sharon Caldwell. We will also have potluck as usual and for all of those wishing to kanikapila (sing and play music) after our general hui, please bring your instruments. Let’s jam and visit! No need hele on after the hui. Stay, kaukau and talk story. We want to get to know you and “hang” if you know what I mean!

The Board of Nā Hawai‘i just had our annual Planning Committee. We have some exciting events coming up so please stay tuned for more announcements. In March we would like volunteers to help serve food at Deva’s luau and we will be celebrating Girl’s Day, a Hawaiian holiday, at our Hui.

“Komo mai kau mapuna hoe!” Dip your paddle in! Come join in on the fun! I’ll see you at the Hui!
