The Board of Nā Hawaiâi wishes a Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentines Day to all our members and their âohana!
I would like to personally apologize to all that didnât receive the newsletter and missed the note on our door to the Sunset Fire Hall (we think some took it down) announcing the cancellation of our January meeting. If you are not receiving a newsletter and are a paid in full member, please contact us so we can get this fixed.
In March we would like volunteers to help serve food at Devaâs luau and we will be celebrating Girlâs Day, a Hawaiian holiday, at our Hui.
We are having a Hui this Sunday, February 11 at 2:00 at the Fire Hall. Greg Kurahashi will be demonstrating how to make kalua pig, easy style in the oven, and we will have a short presentation about the history of kalua pig by âKalanaâ Sharon Caldwell. We will also have potluck as usual and for all of those wishing to kanikapila (sing and play music) after our general hui, please bring your instruments. Letâs jam and visit! No need hele on after the hui. Stay, kaukau and talk story. We want to get to know you and âhangâ if you know what I mean!
